UW Research Software Engineering Community

About half way through 2025, I began to organize the UW Research Software Engineering (UW RSE) community through the Data Science Hub. The community shares and discusses topics related to software development in support of research.

The UW RSE community encourages researchers and software engineers across campus and disciplines to come together and discuss processes, strategies, technologies, trends and niche projects related to improving research through software design, development and use. Common topics in the first year have been related to open source project contributions, Posit services, metric tracking, Microsoft WSL2, Pixi and High Throughput Computing schedulers.
